Over the years Valentine’s day has taken on a whole new meaning for my husband and I.
I remember our first one, he went over the top!
We had only been dating 3 months and he got me a huge card, which I still have, a ring to replace one that had been lost and he named a star with the international star registry after us!
He also bought me roses and took me to dinner at a nice restaurant.
We don’t do much for Valentine’s Day anymore. I don’t know whether its because the first one was so hard to top our because we realized that we don’t need a special day to show each other how much we care and love them.
I’m just kidding, of course its the latter. I don’t need chocolates to know my husband loves me. I can look at the faces of our two children and see the product of our love. I can feel it in his embrace and when he kisses me. I know when he his lying in bed next to me there is no where else he’d rather be.
While being pampered and shorted with gifts is nice, when it comes to Valentine’s Day we would rather skip the crowd and save some money.
No extravagant gifts or expensive restaurants, just some quality time together is all we need.
How do you like to spend Valentine’s Day?
